Four additional industries, including Approtium and Deokyang Energen, 

are designated as hydrogen-specialized companies.

Based on the Hydrogen Act of December 22, a total of 56 hydrogen-specialized companies were selected.

Approtium, Deokyang Energen, Ildo FNC, and Nova Co., Ltd. were additionally selected for the government's designation of hydrogen economy and hydrogen companies to select and foster hydrogen companies.

The Hydrogen Convergence Alliance announced on the 4th that 56 hydrogen-specialized companies were confirmed to have a certain proportion of hydrogen business sales or research and manpower development costs based on laws and regulations in December 2022 (21.2.5.)

In order to promote the implementation of the hydrogen economy, the government identifies companies that have reached a certain standard of sales or R&D expenses in the hydrogen business as hydrogen-specialized companies and provides administrative and financial support under Articles 9 to 18 of the Hydrogen Act.

The Hydrogen Convergence Alliance, a corporation designated by the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, is in charge of hydrogen industry promotion and is carrying out projects to identify and support hydrogen-specialized companies.

According to Article 2 of the Enforcement Decree of the Hydrogen Act, the requirement of a hydrogen company is to run a business related to the hydrogen industry, and the sales related to the hydrogen business (as of the previous fiscal year) out of the total sales (average over the past three years) meet the standards prescribed by Presidential Decree.

So far, 56 companies have been designated as hydrogen companies, including the most recently added Approtium Corporation (hydrogen production), Deokyang Energen (hydrogen production), Ildo FNC (fuel cell), and Nova (fuel cell).

The number of hydrogen-specialized companies has been designated as 56 for the first time since June 21, including Doosan Fuel Cell and Bumhan Fuel Cell, and will receive various benefits such as technical commercialization and market development support, financial support, and additional points when applying for export voucher projects.
