Ulsan to operate hydrogen demonstration city “countdown.”

Piping engineering process rate 70% .. Installation of hydrogen charging stations.

Target for completion of fuel cell co-generation plant in July smoothly.

Urban construction works in full operation after approval for power generation projects in the first Half of the year.

The hydrogen demonstration city project will complete the construction of the hydrogen economy infrastructure in the first half of this year and begin full-scale operation.

Hydrogen city refers to a city where a hydrogen ecosystem is established around the city, and citizens feel urban innovation while using hydrogen as the main energy source.

According to the Ulsan Metropolitan City Corporation on the 14th, the hydrogen demonstration city project is being carried out by investing 42 billion won (1 billion won each for Approtium and Hyundai Motors and 20 billion won each) in 5.87 square kilometers of Yang-jeong-dong and Tae-hwa River stations in Buk-gu.

Yeocheon Five-way Intersection → Tae-hwa river Station → Yul-dong District → The hydrogen piping construction, which will install 8 inches (20cm) in diameter in a 12.5km section to Hyundai Motor's Ulsan plant, will cost 20.3 billion won.

It is scheduled to be completed at the end of June and has a process rate of 70% as of the end of January.

Charging stations will also be set up in Tae-hwa River Station and Hyundai Motor's Ulsan plant, which will produce 500,000 hydrogen cars in 2030.

The fuel cell cogeneration facility construction is a project to supply heating heat and electrical energy produced from pure hydrogen fuel cells to Yul-dong National Rental Housing (437 households), daycare centers, senior citizen centers, and shopping centers.

The power generation scale is 1.3MW and heat is 0.7Gcal/h 75℃. The project, which will cost 15 billion won, is scheduled to be completed in July.

The province also completed the production of facilities at the end of last year and has been under construction since this year.

The Integrated Safety Operation Management Center, which will be built at the Tae-hwa River Station Tourism Information Center, is a project to build a monitoring system that costs 3.9 billion won.

Ulsan City Corporation plans to start operating a hydrogen city in earnest after taking steps such as approval for power generation projects in the first half of this year.

Currently, Yul-dong National Rental Housing is being used for heating as a preliminary boiler that can use city gas while moving in.

Ulsan City Corporation plans to operate a hydrogen city and promote various linkage projects such as expansion of pipes.

The Ulsan Hydrogen demonstration City Project began at the end of December 2019 when it was finally selected by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and was completed after establishing a basic plan in 2021.
