Approtium Co., Ltd, originally started as a regional gas business called 'Ulsan Oxygen' in the early 1960s, and subsequently expanded operation in Ulsan by building out 3 separate manufacturing and distribution facilities while also expanding operation into Seosan (Western part of Korea, 1.5 hours south of Seoul), whereby we have gradually grown into an industry leader, specializing in hydrogen and Liquified CO2 manufacture and distribution.

With a vast piping network of about 60 kilometers centered on the Ulsan Petrochemical industrial complex and a fleet of over 250 hydrogen carriers (i.e. tube trailers) across the country, Approtium manages and provides processed ultra-pure byproduct hydrogen to the refinery processes, semi-conductor industry and to various chemical companies. In addition, Approtium is the largest independent producer in Korea, of hydrogen from natural gas and LPG via 2 large-scale Steam Methane Reformer (SMR) plants.
Approximately 100,000 tons of hydrogen produced and distributed annually through the SMR facilities and the vast pipeline networks, to supply various industrial demand such as refineries, petrochemicals, and semiconductors, while the byproduct carbon dioxide generated during the natural gas reforming process are captured and sold as a separate product into industries such as semiconductors, e-commerce, and to shipbuilding, etc.
Tablets · Liquefied into a product necessary for semiconductor, shipbuilding, food and beverage and fresh food. By meeting these liquified CO2 demands in Korea, Approtium is able to effectively manufacture and distribute low-carbon hydrogen throughout Korea.

Going forward, Approtium will not only be a leader in providing industrial hydrogen solutions, but will also focus on providing solutions for various industries in Korea, such as automotive transport · high-speed rail · shipping · air transport, and power generation by focusing on large scale production and distribution of blue and green hydrogen. · By expanding the low carbon hydrogen business, it is our ambition to lead the expansion of Korea's hydrogen economy and the creation of a necessary industrial ecosystem.
